For some reason I ordered a new edition of the book that I started Latin with over 24 years ago (now I feel old!) – The Cambridge Latin Course 1. I really enjoyed learning Latin with these books. It has the story of Pompeii going throught it. I think one of the reasons I wanted to go away to Nagasaki after the March 11 earthquake was because all the people died who didn’t flee Pompeii when Vesuvius errupted. Going away for a few days really helped and now I feel fine being here is Tokyo. Our house is quite old for Japan and I noticed today that our floor is quite warped from the earthquake and aftershocks. Anyway reading this book again made me realise how hard Japanese is compared to Latin.
